There are two basic types of Bath Rugs: Non-Skid Rugs & Reversible Rugs.
Non-Skid Rugs
There are two methods in manufacturing Non-Skid Bathroom Rugs:
- Tabletop: rugs are made on individual sewing machines which "tuft" yarn onto a backing. Tabletop rugs wear extremely well because the yarns are securely sewn to the backing. A light coating of latex is applied to the back holding the tufting yarns in place and prevents skidding. Tabletop rugs are finished by covering raw edges with tap and hand binding with 2 to 3 rows of tufted yarn.

- Yardage: rugs incorporate a similar technique to making floor carpet. To ensure a non-skid performance, the backs of uncut rolls of rug are coated with rubber or a latex compound. The raw edges of the rug are finished after they are cut by serging or stitching, sealing them to keep yarn from unraveling.
Reversible Rugs
